"To give my life to God is not to deprive myself of anything. In fact I have received much more than I've ever wanted in my life" - Rev Father David Thexeira

This post is dedicated to my uncle, the Late, Great Reverend Father David Thexeira, born 6-11-56, ordained a priest 15-7-99 and called home on the 13 of December 2007.

Yesterday, my family and I celebrated his funeral/requiem mass, followed by the burial at Chua Chu Kang cemetery.

The past two weeks have been very hectic, worrying and emotionally taxing on the Thexeira Family. However, we know that Father David is now in a better place, and that somehow, his mission on Earth is complete.

My uncle was a man of few words, but those little words as well as his actions left a great impact on us all. The 3 things that sum up Uncle David would be, Love, Dedication and Kindness.

Uncle David was exemplary in all his various roles, be it; son, brother, Gabrielite, uncle, godfather, friend and of course, priest. He was a role-model and inspiration to one and all. My father's last, albeit simple, words following his burial proves this. "He was a Great Brother." My dad did not need to say more; that perfectly showed everyone who Father David was to us, the family.

Right now, I am sure Uncle David would want us all to move on in life. We may have lost him physically, but we all know he will always be around guiding and watching over us in spirit.

I love you Uncle David, the whole family does. We will all miss you very dearly. Enjoy your time spent with the man you taught about and loved very much, Jesus. We will see you again.

(I'm in the middle of the picture. The most attractive one, lah)

Hi everyone. This will only take a moment. It’s been quite a journey, eh?

It seems like only yesterday that I stepped into the class; I remember the details like as if it is on the back of my hand. The initial uncertainty, excitement and nervousness all bolted into one.

Interesting bunch, I thought, but you people proved to be all the more interesting as time went on.

We had our moments, such as Shahril’s “initial” shyness and his vibrating cheek. To PFK Productions 2007 producing alternatives to the conventional powerpoint slides, as well as a “Candylicious” talk show (heh). Who will forget the SiYing and Bob saga? This induced more romance-themed story arcs including the facis; Rosalind-Mr Han Yao and Sharon-Mr Joshua come to mind. Of course, the Handsome Guy conflict is also a stand out point in our first semester. (We did have a little resurgent conflict last week too, with Riduan’s “friend-next-door”)

16 weeks cannot simply be compressed into a little note like this today. Of course, there was much more to W45L April-August2007 than “meets the eye”. One can always locate me strolling about during breakouts to catch up on such memories, which I guarantee would be a nice retrospective each time.

So will I miss you guys? Definitely. I can see myself pinning for the days of Jave talking to his “friend” secretively over the phone, Shahril irritating Shahida, Bob and I being the closest thing since Jack Twist and Ennis del Mar, listening to stories from colorful characters like Ben, PF and Nic and of course, the trips put of school during breakouts. ;)

Do not begrudge me as I mention this. It is inevitable that the probability of us progressing as anything more than acquaintances beyond this parting will be lowered tremendously. It is sad to know, but yes, eventually, people move on in life. However, I must let you know that this somewhat brief journey had many repercussions. You people have been great company in the inauguration of my polytechnic life.

To every one of my classmates, as well as the facilitators who may be reading this, Thank You for the memories.

Thank you all.

Ta ta, bye for now.

Chris Benoit. A name that is synonymous with greatness to all wrestling fans out there. I was sitting in class when I received the news from Peter, and I must say, the first thing that hit me was devastation. Today, I, Kenneth Thexeira, Thexman aside, commemorate the life and career of the late, great “Canadian Crippler” Chris Benoit.

Back when I started out watching wrestling, I noticed this Canadian grappler on WCW. The dude put on more than decent matches regularly and in January 2000, I was pleasantly surprised to see that very man, Chris Benoit, along with Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn make their WWE debuts. His debut match is still etched my mind. Haha, as a little mark, I remember cheering on Benoit, hoping he’d put Triple H in his place with a good wallop or two to earn his “contract.”

Though he began his career in the WWE as a heel, his solid work rate and no-nonsense technical style saw him garner an increasing amount of fan support. Stone Cold Steve Austin had a helluva heel title run in the year 2001, and one of the most memorable incidents of the run? Benoit delivering not three, but TEN German suplexes to Austin in Benoit’s hometown of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Although he came up short of winning the title, this was definitely a memory in itself.

When he was paired with Kurt Angle in that unlikely alliance in the fall of 2002 to compete for the WWE Tag Team Titles, the result was fabulous television, as both men churned out excellent matches and entertainment simultaneously. Who can erase the image of Kurt precariously attempting to hug Benoit while celebrating their title win? Or how both men bickered over their winner’s trophy til they destroyed it in their ensuing fracas? Stuff of legend, my friends.

Speaking of Angle, at the Royal Rumble 2003, both he and Benoit put up a SPECTACULAR match with Angle’s WWE championship on the line. The match rocked back and forth, counter after counter, near-fall after near submission. Ultimately, Benoit came up short again, but I still recall the standing ovation he received for his efforts. HUGE POP.

In December 2003, Benoit wrestled for the WWE title against Brock Lesnar at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Huge pop again, displaying how well respected the man is all over the world. I for one thoroughly enjoyed his performance, the evening’s main event. A teased title win did get many of us Kallang-ers sitting on the edge of our seats. My dad even managed to get a shot of the Crippler in mid-air, as he was delivering his Diving Headbutt to Brock Lesnar.
2004 was perhaps the most significant year of the Rabid Wolverine’s life. Benoit began the year on a high by winning the Royal Rumble although he was entrant number 1, the man with the least odds of winning(by winning he became the second ever man in history to do that, after Shawn Michaels in 1995). Surprisingly, Benoit decided to jump to Raw to challenge Triple H for his World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania XX.

People out there, at WMXX, Benoit, along with Shawn Michaels and HHH put on a performance of a lifetime in their triple threat match for the Title, which ended with Benoit forcing the mighty HHH to submit to his patented Crippler Crossface, thus rendering him the victor and new World Heavyweight Champion. The man took a nineteen year journey to reach the top of the mountain, and as a fan, I felt for him. Elation and joy that was filling me was sent even further through the roof when his best friend, then WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero came out to celebrate with him. The sight of the two best friends celebrating amidst the confetti and roaring fans due to the successful culmination of their journey to the top of the Wrestling industry was something that I will treasure forever.

Over the next few years, Benoit began moving into the role of a “helper” in the business. While still maintaining his fearsome reputation, he went on to battle and feud with a number of rising stars, helping to elevate them to the upper echelons. Most recently, Benoit and Montel Vontavious Porter, MVP, put up a series of captivating matches for Benoit’s United States Championship, which was ultimately won by MVP. This isn’t a bad thing, as Benoit had just played a significant role in elevating a promising star like MVP nearer to the Main Event picture.

Chris Benoit was recently drafted over to the ECW brand, and unknown to some, Benoit is actually an ECW Original, having wrestled there in the mid-nineties. I was excited beyond belief with this move, and in my opinion, I felt Benoit was the most significant Draft Pick this year, as he was set to be the new face of ECW. Hands-up if you predicted along with me and many others that Benoit was gonna be crowned ECW World Champion at Vengeance over CM Punk(who by the way, Benoit was obviously gonna engage in an epic feud with). See? The wheels were set in motion for him to take centre stage again. Due to his untimely demise, we can only dream of what could have been.

Now many news reports and various investigators have begun assuming things regarding the deaths of Benoit and his family. I shall not touch on nor shall I comment on those matters here, as what I am doing is celebrating his WWE career. At the same time, I would like to state that Chris Benoit enjoyed a successful career prior to the WWE as well, namely in Japan, ECW, and WCW. This post basically covers his WWE career through my eyes, as how I had watched and experienced it. Therefore, for more information on the rest of The Crippler’s career and life, visit http://www.wwe.com/, www.411mania.com./wrestling or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Benoit .

To conclude I would like to narrate a little tale of mine. Back in 2002, prior to the Smackdown! Tour in February, Benoit visited our sunny island for a promotional appearance/autograph session. Even though I was a scrawny and pesky 13 year-old then, I already had cultivated a great amount of love and respect for ‘Toothless Aggression’. Lol. When it was my turn to go on stage to get The Crippler’s autograph, all of a sudden, I was halted by security; the session had ended. I nearly broke down at the sight of Benoit waving to the fans; the Benoit picture in my hand, signature-less. Though I managed to catch him in action LIVE in 2003, deep down, I still wanted his autograph.

Chris Benoit was scheduled to appear in Singapore at Bugis Junction on the 6th of July for an autograph signing again. I jumped at the news and was ready to skip class just for “The Crippler”. I waited so eagerly. And today, I was hit by the unbearable news. Today, I, along with millions of wrestling fans, am left mourning the passing of a true legend. It just seems surreal, especially with the fact that his wife, Nancy “Woman” Benoit, and son, Daniel Benoit, was taken as well.

People who know me well know how much Chris Benoit meant to me as a performer as well as a role-model. Chris Benoit was one of my favourite wrestlers of all time, and will always remain to be. At the end of the day, we have to wipe our tears and rise from our sorrows. Life’s like that after all.

However, in more ways than one, here I am, a Chris Benoit fan, still eagerly awaiting his autograph; the Benoit picture still in my hand, still signature-less.

I should be off to bed now. My thoughts and prayers are with the Benoit Family. Along with your family, Chris Benoit, may you Rest in Peace. I love you and I know I am going to miss you.

Thanks for the memories, Chris.

Hi all THEXMANIACS out there!! Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrreeeesssss the

THEXMAN!

Alive and Well I must say!

Its been NINE months since i last bloged, man. What an excruciating time for all the THEXMANIACS.

Anyway here's a quick recap of what's happened since last September:

-Lesley
-Less Skin
-Yes, Cena is still the champion
-RP
-Surin
-WWE heading to Singapore
-Spider-man3, At World's End, Rise of the Silver Surfer, Transformers, Simpsons
-Polytechnic Forum 2007. Oh hell, yeah!
-Franklin had his first beer

I took another one of those surveys, and guess what? The song that best describes me now is "Eyes Wide Open" by the Goo Goo Dolls. How true.

I'm a fortunate son of a fortunate son
Living large on the wrong side of town
Too many friends and the fun never ends
Drinkin' and hangin' around

I wanna rule the world, wanna swallow it whole
At least I could kick it all down
I wanna kick it all down

Eyes wide open, I can't see
Eyes wide open, what you mean
Eyes wide open, I can't seem to be
My eyes wide open, I can't see
Eyes wide open, what you mean
Eyes wide open, I can't seem to be

I don't take the bus and I never walk too far
The furthest I got was my own backyard
With a fist full of cash that somebody else earned
Send me some more when it all got burned

I wanna take control, wanna make it all mine
At least I could kick it all down
I wanna' kick it all down

Eyes wide open, I can't see
Eyes wide open, what you mean
Eyes wide open, I can't seem to be
My eyes wide open, I can't see
Eyes wide open, what you mean
Eyes wide open, I can't seem to be

You never ever know
You never ever know
You never ever know
You never ever know

I'll get what I want if I make up my mind
I'm turnin' you inside out
I wanna rule the world, wanna swallow it whole
I think I'll just kick it all down. I wanna kick it all down.

Eyes wide open, I can't see
Eyes wide open, what you mean
Eyes wide open, I can't seem to be
My eyes wide open, I can't see
Eyes wide open, what you mean
Eyes wide open, I can't seem to be
Eyes wide open

Ta ta, bye for now.

ps: Happy New Year. LOL.

Hello THEXMANIACS! Photos today, from your favourite person in the whole wide world, THEXMAN. Above, we have Thex on the Terminator Motorcycle at Universal Studios in Hollywood, California, taken in December last year.
Here is a picture of my family and my maternal grandparents. I miss you, Ah Kong.
Aha, Chris Benoit delivering the flying headbutt to Brock Lesnar during the WWE Championship match held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, Passport to Smackdown! Asian Tour 2003. I was there, thus the picture.
Me in my no4 uniform after NCC one evening. I know you THEXMANIACS just dig the pic.
Last but not least, my NCC no3 uniform. As you may notice, I've had an extremely successful NCC (Air) career. And this is only the left hand side of the uniform. You people should check out the entire package. Sweet.

Farwell Thexmaniacs! I need to turn in. Hope you enjoyed this monumental post, as this is actually the first time THEXMAN is uploading pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Hello one and all!

It’s been some time yea? Well let me say that I have been seriously toying with the idea of making thex-posts a monthly thing. Something like those rare occurrences made by the Undertaker in the WWE.

Nevertheless, I have been away from blogging for quite some time, so for those of you who have presumed that my existence has been concluded prematurely, please, The Smashing Thexman is alive and well. And I have also come up with a possible list of reasons explaining my recent absence.

Here it is:

1. I was and still am rather lazy.
2. I didn’t want to have something else replacing the position of the ‘Name’ video, which I like very much.
3. I have my prelims on!
4. Was watching Smallville Season 5.
5. Was watching puroresu, Japanese Professional Wrestling.
6. Watching Smallville.
7. Studying. A bit.
8. Going the gym. A bit.
9. Gorging on food.
10. Devouring food.
11. Finished watching Smallville Season 5. Here’s what transpired: (Spoilers!) Clark and Lana get together; they break up, Lana gets together with Lex. Dr Milton Fine, Brainiac from the comics and cartoons, arrives in Smallville following the meteor shower in an attempt to find a host for General Zod to possess. Jonathan Kent, sadly, dies after being elected Senator. Lionel Luthor knows Clark’s ‘Secret’. Zod finally possesses Lex, using his body as a vessel to bring about destruction upon the hapless world. Brainiac and Zod/Lex unleash a computer virus that shuts down the electrical supply of every city in the world, causing a global blackout. The world is apparently doomed, because Zod/Lex entraps Clark in the Phantom Zone (that glass panel prison from the movies, for the uninitiated). The season ends with Clark floating helplessly in space in his otherworldly prison, with the world below him in a state of serious jeopardy. Man, man, man, MAN! Can’t wait for the sixth season!
12. Last but not least, yea, I am lazy.

Ta ta, bye for now.

I don’t want the world to see me, cos I don’t think that they’d understand. But when everything’s made to be broken, I just want Thexmaniacs to know who I am.
